Honorable Nicole Rodarte

 

Judge Rodarte was appointed to the bench on January 8, 2013.  Judge Rodarte received her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1994, and her law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law at Boulder in 1998.

Judge Rodarte worked as a Deputy Public Defender for the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office from 1998 to 2004.  Judge Rodarte opened her own law practice in 2004,  and remained a sole practioner until 2007.  In 2007 Judge Rodarte partnered with Dana Casper and remained partners until her appointment.  She was a Criminal Defense Attorney for the Criminal Justice Act Panel from 2006 to 2013, and Criminal Defense Attorney for Alternative Defense Counsel from 2004 to 2013.

Judge Rodarte serves, or has served, as a Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Board Member from 2009-2010; member of the Colorado Bar Association; member of the Denver Bar Association; Public Policy Committee member for the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association; member of the Judicial Committee for the Colorado Women’s Bar Association; member of the Hispanic National Bar Association; and member of the Public Policy Committee for the Colorado Women’s Bar Association.

Judge Rodarte has volunteered her time as a mock trial coach for local high schools and a Judge of mock trial competitions at the University of Colorado and University of Denver Schools of Law for the Colorado High School competitions for several years.  Judge Rodarte served as Secretary of the Parent Teacher Association for Swigert International School from 2010 to 2012, and has served as a Colorado Lymphoma Society Fundraiser since 2009.
