Judicial Nomination Commission

The Denver County Court Judicial Nomination Commission is responsible for organizing job postings, processing applications, and conducting interviews for prospective judicial officers. The commission then presents qualified candidates to the Denver Mayor for nomination and appointment. Judicial officer opportunities will be posted here as they become available.

Position Starting Salary Benefits Information Application Submission Deadline

Applicants for the position must be qualified electors of the City and County of Denver at the time of application, be licensed as an attorney at law in the State of Colorado and have a minimum of five years’ experience as a licensed practicing attorney.  Each appointment will be for a provisional term of two years with retention for a regular four-year term determined at the first November General Election after the provisional term.

Completed applications must be emailed to dccjudicialapplications@denvercountycourt.org by the application submission deadline listed above.  Late applications will not be considered.  Applications will be kept confidential with exception to the public disclosure of the names for those nominees submitted to the Mayor and the nominees’ full applications will be forwarded to the Mayor. Judicial Performance Commission

The Colorado Judicial Performance system consists of commissions that evaluate state judges and justices to provide voters with information before retention elections.

Judicial Discipline Commission

The Denver County Court Judicial Discipline Commission has authority to review the conduct of a Judge or, if requested by the Presiding Judge, a Magistrate of the County Court of the City and County of Denver. However, it is not a court of law and cannot review the legal or factual aspects of a Judge’s or Magistrate’s decision.
