Traffic Division
The traffic division of the Denver County Court handles traffic cases for alleged violations of traffic laws under state statutes or municipal ordinances. The majority of traffic related cases are heard in this division, with the only exception being driving under the influence cases which are heard exclusively in the criminal division. The division also hears photo enforcement cases (also known as photo radar) and certain parking related matters.
Traffic cases in Colorado are complex in that they can be either a criminal offense or a non-criminal infraction, or a combination of both, with some types of cases being eligible for an automatic plea offer and being payable before court, and other types requiring an in person appearance before the court.
The volume of traffic matters heard by the division is larger than the total number of cases heard by any other court in the state of Colorado.

You may have two options on how to proceed:

- You can plead not guilty. If you want to do this, you must appear in person at 1437 Bannock Street, Room 135, Denver, CO 80202 to set a final hearing. You must appear in person on any workday prior to the time listed on the ticket.
