Mayor Johnston Appoints Brian C. Williamson to Denver County Court

DENVER, CO — Mayor Mike Johnston today announced the appointment of Brian C. Williamson to the Denver County Court bench. The appointment will fill the vacancy created by the departure of Judge James Zobel.

Williamson currently serves as a part-time Magistrate for the Denver County Court, a role he began in 2024. In addition to his judicial duties, he is the owner of BCWilliamson, P.C., where he has been a trial attorney since 2015. He was previously an associate attorney at Haddon, Morgan & Foreman, P.C. from 2012-2015, and an attorney with the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in Montrose and Arapahoe Counties from 2006-2012.

Williamson earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 2005 and his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder, in 2000.
