Denver County Court

A criminal case happens when the government files a case in court against someone when they believe a crime was committed. If the defendant is found guilty or pleads guilty to a crime, he or she may face jail. There are four different types of criminal cases: municipal ordinance violations, petty offenses, misdemeanors, and felonies.  This section explains how a criminal case works, how to pay fines and fees, and how to dispute the charges filed.
