Honorable Kerry Hada

 

 

 

 

 

Judge Hada was appointed to the bench in December of 2008. Judge Hada is a graduate of Wheat Ridge High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from University of Colorado at Boulder and a master’s degree from Colorado State University. Judge Hada received his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Hada served as an Airborne Ranger and infantry officer with the U.S. Army. He worked for Johns Manville Corporation and Merck Corporation in 1988 and 1989, and then opened his own law firm. Judge Hada also worked for the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Judge Hada is a founding member and past president of both the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Colorado and the Minoru Yasui American Inns of Court. He is a faculty instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, served on numerous Colorado Supreme Court panels and committees, served on the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Judiciary Committee, and served as president of the Arapahoe County Bar Association. Judge Hada served on the Denver Bar Association Board of Governors, is a fellow emeritus of the Colorado Bar Association and has served on the Executive Council, and is a mentor to youth through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado.

Judge Hada is a recipient of the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award, the Charles B. Dillon Award of Merit for outstanding public service, and the Asian American Heroes of Colorado Award.
